I embarked on my journey with Nannies 4 Grannies over 4 years ago now and haven’t looked back. My vision was half a dozen members of staff supporting a handful of clients between us but as always, when you have a superb team and your reputation grows, then you grow accordingly. I love working with our great staff who come from all walks of life and who are able to share their life skills and add a personal touch with our fantastic clients.

I have been a ‘Nanny’ for two and a half years. Originally I was the Production Manager for a London based Record Company. Around twenty years ago I left to gain my qualifications to work in Horticulture, working in the gardens of stately homes as well as private residences in the north of England. My family and I have lived in Harpenden for eighteen years. My husband works for a charity and my two sons are both Computer Scientists.

I have worked for Nannies 4 Grannies since Oct 2016, spending 4 mornings in the office assisting with new and existing client liaison and then out and about as a ‘Nanny’ – which I love.
Before joining the company, I worked in Paris and Bermuda as a bi-lingual secretary, taught French to primary school children and then worked in an independent girls’ school. I have 3 grown up children and enjoy cycling, reading, and holidaying in France. I am currently trying to learn how to play the keyboard and am soon to start Spanish lessons.

After leaving school, I worked as a Secretary/PA until I started a family. I now have two daughters and enjoy skiing holidays, cooking and socialising but my passion is for dance. I started dance lessons, including ballroom, Latin American, ballet, tap and Jazz as a young child and still love to dance. I have been working for Nannies 4 Grannies for a couple of years.

I originally did secretarial training and have had a variety of secretarial and PA roles over many years. The last 16 years I was working as a Managing Director’s PA for a medical device and hospital equipment company, and then as an Office Manager in a Care Home, before joining N4G. I have been working with N4G for almost a year. I think the main qualities needed to be a good nanny are patience and kindness. I have always enjoyed the company of elderly people, they have so much history and always interesting stories to tell. It is rewarding to help our clients by making their lives a bit easier, even in a small way. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, reading, walking, eating out, and swimming (in the sea when possible!)

I live with my husband in Hemel Hempstead. I have two sons and have four grandchildren.

I joined Nannies 4 Grannies in September 2017. Prior to that I spent a year or so helping my mother cope after a series of falls and before that I was a Financial Administrator in a care home for 16 years.

I like to keep busy and have many hobbies and interests. These include; my family, travel, photography (I am an active member of a camera club), music, reading, knitting, sewing, decorating and upcycling bits of junk. I keep fit by walking, running and the occasional bike ride. I love animals, watching films, going to the theatre and concerts.

I will have a go at most things and have a positive outlook on life. I like to meet new people and enjoy helping when I can – I volunteer with the RVS for a couple of hours a week. I have played tenor sax and clarinet in a big band for over 35 years. I have taken salsa dancing lessons and have a black belt in TaeKwon Do and have various holistic therapy qualifications.

I joined Nannies 4 Grannies in April 2018 – it was a late career change for me as I have worked for many years as a PA/Secretary within the pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries.
I live Hemel Hempstead with my partner and have two grown up daughters. I have recently become a proud grandmother to Daisie. I enjoy walking my dog, visiting heritage attractions and historic towns and am passionate about birds and wildlife.
I love my work as I often support my elderly parents and the flexibility of my shift pattern with N4G enables me to do this. I want to make a difference to people’s lives and am proud to be part of the N4G team.
